For Police

Law enforcement agencies play a vital role in the fight against counterfeiting. The Reserve Bank works closely with law enforcement to help provide the tools, training, and support to combat counterfeiting and to prosecute offenders.

The Reserve Bank assists the Australian Federal Police and other law enforcement agencies by:

  • monitoring and reporting counterfeiting trends
  • maintaining a dedicated counterfeit examination laboratory
  • educating the public and domestic law enforcement agencies about how to identify counterfeits and what actions should be taken when counterfeits are identified.
